Katherine Pigott
Katherine’s sustained dedication to the values of EDI is exceptional for a number of reasons. Katherine has provided consistent governance of the EDI process across changing heads of schools and chairs. Katherine takes steps at all times to ensure work-related processes and activities are completed in a manner that is inclusive of all, which precludes bias or discrimination. This is particularly evident in the steps she took to lead the establishment of a school interface to benefit students by bringing each students respective data from diverse sources together for the first time.
Katherine championed and administered the processes to support ‘Performance for Growth’ in the school, implementing same and reporting ongoing progress to School Board. As a result of Katherines endeavours our school was one of the early implementers of ‘Performance for Growth’.
Katherine also contributes to activities which advance and promote diversity and inclusion external to the school within both the college and at national level. Katherine also took on additional work above and beyond the expectations of her role by volunteering to serve on the Advance HE as an Athena Swan Panel Member. In volunteering to undertake this work Katherine demonstrates sustained dedication to the values of equality and diversity and positions herself to best guide and direct future AS applications within the school and across the college to help ensure success.
We believe that Katherine espouses the values of respect and inclusiveness in her work with others both within and outside the School, in her day-to-day work and EDI/AS specific activities.
