Dr Duygu Sezgin

Dr Duygu Sezgin is a Lecturer and Head of Discipline in General Nursing at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at University of Galway. She has experience working as a home care nurse. Duygu was a postdoctoral researcher on the EU-funded ADVANTAGE Joint Action for Frailty. Her research background includes psychosocial interventions for people with dementia, chronic disease management, and frailty, as well as transitional and intermediate care for older adults. She supervises PhD and Master’s students in these areas and has extensive international research collaborations. Duygu contributes to our Art and Science of Evidence-Based Healthcare: Searching, Synthesising and Appraising Evidence module.
Duygu loves all kinds of animals and plants. She enjoys swimming (rarely in Blackrock in Galway as she prefers relatively warmer temperatures).
