Dr Elaine Breslin is the Director of Research Institutes Technology Services at the University of Galway

University of Galway has established the Research Institutes Technology Services Directorate to support the new research institutes—the Institute for Health Discovery and Innovation and the Institute for Clinical Trials. Dr Elaine Breslin, assumed the role of Director of Research Institutes Technology Services earlier this year. This Directorate, a joint initiative between the College of Science and Engineering and the College of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences, will be pivotal in advancing the University's ambitious research programme of excellence. It integrates and manages existing core facilities and newly established resources and facilities associated with the two Institutes. The Directorate’s establishment marks a key milestone in recognising the essential role of core facilities and technologies in fostering a world-class, interdisciplinary research ecosystem.

Elaine holds a BSc in Biotechnology, a PhD in Immunotherapy, and an MSc in Medical Technology Regulatory Affairs and brings a background of over 20 years in Medtech and Life Sciences spanning both industry and academia to the role.
