Dr Elaine Toomey

Elaine is a Lecturer in Evidence-Based Healthcare, Programme Director of the MSc in Evidence-Based Future Healthcare and leads our Introduction to Evidence-Based Healthcare: Practices and Principles modules. Elaine is a Chartered Physiotherapist and her research interests are in implementation science, knowledge translation and moving health research into practice and policy. She has a particular interest in health behaviour change for chronic disease prevention and management, evidence synthesis and health research methodology.

Elaine is an avid sportsperson and her claim to fame is having represented Ireland in two random and niche sports – canoe polo, and tag rugby, and is the proud owner of a tag rugby world cup silver medal!
