Dr. Emma Kirwan
Dr Emma Kirwan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Galway. Emma holds an MSc in Health Psychology from the University of Galway and completed an Irish Research Council funded PhD in Psychology at the University of Limerick. Emma’s research interests include aspects of social connection, such as loneliness, and their relation to health. Emma has expertise in mixed-method research, including qualitative approaches and evidence synthesis. She also has a keen interest in open science methodologies and in engaging with and communicating research to the public. Emma is currently working on Health Research Board Knowledge Translation Award projects focused on enhancing the public’s knowledge and engagement in randomised trials and evidence synthesis.
