Dr Kasia Goljanek-Whysall, PhD
Dr Whysall is an Associate Professor and Vice-Dean for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Galway, Ireland. She also leads Galway RNA Research Cluster. Her research focuses on non-coding RNAs, particularly microRNAs, and muscle wasting in ageing and neuromuscular conditions. She previously held the Irish Research Council Laureate award and published over 60 peer reviewed articles. She received a Korenchevsky award from the British Society for Research into Ageing and is an editorial member of Biogerontology, Scientific Reports and Frontiers in Ageing. She is also a board member of the Breakthrough Cancer Research and a member of the Scientific Advisory board for the V-ATPase alliance and an advocate for patients affected by rare conditions: https://iamnumber17.ie/.
