Dr KM Saif-Ur-Rahman

Dr KM Saif-Ur-Rahman specialises in evidence synthesis and health research methods, holding the position of Research Fellow at Center for Health Research Methods, University of Galway, Honorary Research Senior Lecturer at the College of Medicine Nursing and Health Sciences, University of Galway, and Senior Research Methodologist at Evidence Synthesis Ireland and Cochrane Ireland. Initially trained as a physician, Saif pursued further training in epidemiology and evidence synthesis, completing his PhD at Nagoya University with a focus on non-communicable diseases and geriatric epidemiology.

His research spans infectious and chronic diseases in resource-poor settings, employing both quantitative and qualitative methods. A prolific author, Saif has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles (h-index 33; i10-index 59) and led numerous systematic reviews, including those for Cochrane. He is adept in various evidence synthesis methodologies such as systematic reviews, scoping reviews, rapid reviews, and evidence gap maps.
