Dr Paul Dodd
Vice President for Engagement, University of Galway
Dr Paul Dodd was appointed to the new role of Vice President for Engagement at University of Galway in January 2022. He is a member of the university management team and plays a central role in connecting the university with local, national and global partners, building on the University’s long tradition of deep engagement with our surroundings.
Paul spent the previous decade in a senior research role at University of California. He was previously a member of the leadership team at Science Foundation Ireland leading on industry-university collaborative programs and spent two years on assignment with IDA Ireland in silicon valley assisting with R&D inward investments to Ireland.
He has worked in the data storage industry in research and engineering management roles and holds BA and MSc degrees in material science from Trinity College Dublin, and a PhD in Physics from Queen’s University Belfast.
