Dr. Sandra Galvin
Dr. Sandra Galvin is the National Programme Manager for the Health Research Board – Trials Methodology Research Network (HRB-TMRN) at the University of Galway. With over 18 years of experience in project and programme management, she has been instrumental in the development, expansion, and strategic direction of the HRB-TMRN. Dr. Galvin has contributed to securing over €7.4 million in competitive research funding, driving growth and innovation within the network.
She holds a Professional Diploma in Project Management from University College Dublin, which has enhanced her expertise in strategic process development and project execution. Dr. Galvin co-created the START Competition, an initiative that educates children about the value of clinical trials and enhances critical thinking around health claims. Her leadership competencies were further enhanced by completing the Advance HE Aurora Women in Leadership programme.
Dr. Galvin actively contributes to the academic community through her involvement in various university committees, including the Academic Council, the University of Galway Research and Innovation Committee, and the School of Nursing and Midwifery Research Committee. She is also a founding member of the University of Galway Staff Research Network and has chaired the School of Nursing and Midwifery Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee.
