Fai is the Director of HRB Clinical Research Facility-UCC.

He is globally recognised expert and a key opinion leader in Sjogren’s disease (SjD) and fatigue research.

He set up the UK primary Sjogren’s syndrome registry (UKPSSR), with over 1300 well-characterised patients.

The UKPSSR remains one of the world’s largest cohorts and biobanks in SjD.

The UKPSSR has supported over 50 research projects including industry collaborations, led to over 75 peer-reviewed publications, and leveraged an additional £50M in grant awards.
