GNC early career researchers attend Neuroscience Ireland 2025 conference

The Neuroscience Ireland 2025 conference took place on August 28th & 29th at Queens University Belfast (https://neuroscienceireland.com/nsi-2025-conference).  More than 200 attendees came together for two unforgettable days celebrating neuroscience and neuropsychology in Ireland.

The GNC were proud to offer conference registration bursaries to support ECRs attending the event.  Over 30 ECRs from Galway attended the conference and showcased their work as part of the poster presentation sessions and spotlight oral presentations.

Congratulations to Patrick Hurley, Amy Cox, and Eulalie Lafarge who won awards for their poster presentations!

Speaking about the event, GNC PI and Neuroscience Ireland president Prof. Dara Cannon said "The Neuroscience Ireland 2025 conference was our first in the North and was so well attended, bringing neuroscientists across the island closer together. The theme was 'Connectivity for Brain Health' and we awarded the inaugural 'Education in Neuroscience' award to Prof Aine Kelly who highlighted the importance of pedagogical research on our neuroscience curricula across Ireland and the new related courses lists available on the Neuroscience Ireland website. Don't forget, NSI membership includes FENS membership and eligibility for travel bursaries, outreach, conference and research mobility support schemes. Hoping to see you all again soon at the NSI-Early-Career Researchers conference, UCD, August 2026 and the NSI 2027 conference at the University of Limerick."
