Early Career Researchers Careers Event and Table Quiz

One of the key ambitions of the ECR Committee is to create opportunities for researchers to connect, learn from one another, and build supportive networks across disciplines. Seeing so many researchers, mentors, and support staff come together throughout the day was a wonderful reminder of the strength of our research community. The event was designed to help early career researchers explore funding opportunities, mentorship, collaboration, and available supports.

The mentor panel offered honest and valuable insights into research careers, funding journeys, and the opportunities and challenges researchers encounter along the way. We hope attendees found the discussions both informative and encouraging as they consider their own next steps. 

The Collision Session demonstrated just how much creativity and expertise exists within our community. By bringing together ideas, challenges, and ambitions, the session sparked conversations that we hope will develop into future collaborations, funding applications, and research projects.

We would like to thank our mentors, colleagues from the Research Office, the TSD, and all attendees for their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day. Your willingness to share experiences and support one another is what made the event such a success. 

Finally, a huge thank you to the ECR Committee for their commitment and hard work in organising both the Careers Event and the Table Quiz. It was great to see so many people stay on to network, enjoy some friendly competition, and contribute to our charity fundraising efforts to raise money for COPE Galway.
