Karolina is a highly skilled technical scientist specialising in imaging of biological samples at the light microscopy core. With over 6 years of experience in various research methodologies including molecular biology, in-situ hybridisation, advanced fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry and electron microscopy, Karolina supports diverse scientific projects. In the Light Microscopy Core, Karolina provides expertise in in-vitro experimental design, sample preparation, imaging, and image analysis techniques. 

  

Karolina holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from The University of Galway, where her research focused on copy number alterations of chromosome 11 genes in breast cancer. At the Light Microscopy Core Facility, Karolina plays a critical role in maintaining and optimising state-of-the-art instrumentation, training researchers in specialised methodologies, and driving innovation through collaborative efforts with investigators from academia and industry. 

  

Outside of work, Karolina enjoys running, going to the gym and painting.
