Scholarship Criteria
Eligibility
Our Latin America 50% scholarships are open to all Latin American candidates on Non-EU fees who are registered on one of the programmes listed below, for the academic year 2025-2026 (repeat students are not eligible for this scholarship)
Value
The total value of the Scholarship will be 50% of your tuition fees. The tuition fees are available on the course pages. Living expenses, travel costs etc. are not included. If a student is applicable for more than one University of Galway scholarship, then the greater of the two should be selected; they cannot be combined.
Tenure
A Scholarship is tenable only at University of Galway in respect of the programme for which it is offered. It may not be transferred to any other programme. The Scholarship is only available in the year in which it is offered. It may not be deferred.
Condition of Award
To register as a student of the University on the programme in respect of which the Scholarship is being awarded, by the due registration date. Failure to complete the registration requirement by the due date will render the student ineligible for the award without further notice. Decisions on scholarships are final
Application Procedure
Students apply for the course as normal and if their course application is successful will receive an offer to accept a scholarship in due course.
Interviews: The courses with an asterix * in the list below run an interview process as part of the selection process. People selected for interview will be invited to an informal online interview with the programme director shortly after your application is processed.
Capacity Constraints: All applications are subject to programme specific capacity constraints.
Nature of Award
The award will take the form of a fee reduction in the first instance, or in some cases a refund may be issued where applicable.
