Oliver is from Galway and works as a Senior Technical Officer within the Discipline of Surgery where he supports the research activities.

He also supports the quality systems within the Cancer Biobank. He graduated from this University with a PhD in Biochemistry and completed postdoctoral research at INSERM in Paris where he helped discover some important enzymes involved in the antigen presentation pathway.

Subsequently he worked as a technical specialist at Abbott Diagnostics in Sligo for 3 years before rejoining this university as laboratory manager for medical devices research centre CÚRAM where he worked for 13 years before joining the Discipline of Surgery in 2022.
