Prof John Laffey

John Laffey is Director of Research at the Saolta Health Care Group, and Director of the Clinical Research and Development Office, which governs and supports clinical research across both the University of Galway and the Saolta University Hospital Group.

He is Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Galway, Ireland. Other roles include being Chair of the Irish Critical Care Trials Group, and Section Chair of the Translational Biology Section at the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine.

His research is focused on the critical illnesses of ARDS and sepsis.
