Professor Róisín Dwyer

Professor Róisín Dwyer is a PI in the Discipline of Surgery at University of Galway. Professor Dwyer is also the current Vice Dean for Research and Innovation in the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (CMNHS).
Róisín’s research focuses on cell communication in the breast tumour microenvironment, with a view to harnessing this knowledge for development of novel gene therapy approaches for advanced breast cancer. Her research has been recognised through a variety of honours and she has published multiple papers in respected international journals such as Clinical Cancer Research and Molecular Therapy. She is a named inventor on patents, and works closely with patients, clinicians, multidisciplinary scientists and industry collaborators to develop therapeutic approaches for advanced breast cancer.
