Public Engagement Projects

Our university has a long history of public engagement, bringing our research, knowledge and passion to communities and groups. In turn, we learn and grow from those interactions.

"Public engagement describes the myriad of ways in which the activity and benefits of higher education and research can be shared with the public. Engagement is by definition a two-way process, involving interaction and listening, with the goal of generating mutual benefit."
National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement (UK).

Below are some of the projects underway at University of Galway, and we invite our research community and the public to find out more and come on board with some of these great initiatives.

If you are a member of the University of Galway research community and would like your project included in this collection, please drop a line to Ruth Hynes.
