Scholarship Awardees
Sirisha Rao - Graduate MSc Hospitality Performance , Revenue & Asset Management
'I decided to pursue the MSc in Hospitality Performance, Revenue, and Asset Management because I wanted to deepen my expertise in the critical areas of revenue operations and asset management within the hospitality industry. Having already gained a solid understanding of foundational hospitality through my Bachelor's degree and work experience, I felt that this Master's program would equip me with the advanced skills and knowledge needed to excel in higher-level management roles.
Since I have graduated my short term plan is to focus on becoming well-versed in revenue operations and strategies within the hospitality industry. This expertise will be essential as I work towards my long-term goal of becoming a General Manager. Ultimately, I aspire to start my own business in the hospitality sector, where I can combine my passion for the industry with my commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.'
Vaness - Bachelor of Commerce International Hotel Management
'Hi, my name is Vaness and I come from Vietnam.
I have an endless passion for hospitality and am grateful I came across this college after plenty of research. I completed the International Foundation Business Programme before I began my Undergraduate journey. Thanks to the training and qualification I received from studying this year long course at Shannon College I was lucky enough to enter on to the Level 8 Business Degree programme and continue my journey here.
I enjoy both the theoretical and practical classes and I look forward to learning and exploring new fields within business and hospitality. This was the first time I get to experience practical modules such as Culinary/Kitchen, Restaurant Service/F&B and Rooms Division/Accommodation.
Shannon College for me is not only a place to study, explore and develop, I have also become part of a warm and friendly family. Otherwise known as "The Shanfam".
As I embark on my year 2 operational placement with the beautiful Cashel Palace Hotel, I look forward to learning many new skills and continuing my hospitality journey. '
